The client who commissioned this wanted her wedding dress to resemble a fairy tale princess. I fashioned the dress after her own sketches that she provided me with. It is made from heavy weight bridal satin, with a front bodice panel of white and silver brocade. A wide cording separates the two fabrics of the bodice. The upper arms are decorated with brocade “ribbons”, which are trimmed in pearls. The over-sleeves are made from silk chiffon. Fancy pearl trim embellishes the pointed wrists of the under-sleeves. The dress is lined with bridal satin, and the bodice is underlined with two layers of heavy canvas, which is boned with steel boning for support. A pearl trim runs around the neck opening for an extra hint of elegance.
